Low Society – 8 november in NiXenMeeR (gecanceld)

Deze band opgericht door Mandy Lemons en haar partner in crime, Sturgis Nikides, brengen fijne Texas en Delta blues met een flinke dosis soul en rock n roll en dat allemaal lekker gebracht met een New Yorkse flair.

Mandy staat garant voor de vocalen die een power hebben die als een electrische lading op je neer komen. Gitarist en producer Sturgis Nikides (voormalig gitarist bij Jon Cale) zorgt voor de spetterende slide. Het solide rockritme wordt verzorgd door drummer Mike Munn en bassist Nick Dodson.

Deze relatief jonge band heeft twee albums op hun naam staan, High time en You can’t keep a good woman down. De laatste boreling werd wereldwijd bijzonder goed ontvangen al bleven de reacties in Nederland nog wat achter. Enkele reacties over deze cd:

Dat Frank Roszak, winnaar ‘Keep the blues alive’ IBC Memphis award 2014, deze band onder zijn publicatievleugels heeft genomen, zegt veel over deze band.
