Claude Hay

Hailing from the world heritage listed Blue Mountains near Sydney Australia, award winning Australian solo artist Claude Hay invokes the best of stomping traditional blues, hard rock and booty-shaking funk, all delivered with slide guitar chops to burn and a vocal range to match.

Hay is perhaps the world’s ultimate Do-It-Yourself musician forging his live sound on the back of looping technology which allows him to create a band vibe without the band. This approach has seen this fiercely independent artist build an audience for his music globally with the release of four award-winning home- made albums.

His accolades include charting top 10 in USA’s Blues Billboard charts, supporting Seasick Steve, Joe Bonamassa and the likes, touring Europe annually, playing all major blues festivals of Australia and winner of Best Album and Best Male Vocalist at the Australian Blues Music Chain Awards.

Hay has for several years played at some of the biggest blues and rock festivals in Netherlands and Belgium including Moulin Blues and Zwarte Cross and this year he will burst onto the UK live scene this October with a 20 show tour supporting Wille and the Bandits, one of UK’s own best blues-rock 3 pieces on their album release tour. He will also return to Netherlands to revisit his Dutch fans built up over the years.

Hay will perform solo in One Man Band mode to promote his fourth studio album ROLLER COASTER which has featured tracks (as well as him cameo-ing in it) in the upcoming sci-fi action movie “Origin Wars – The Osiris Child” (starring Kellan Lutz from Hercules and Twilight) also hitting the cinemas through Lionsgate in UK/Europe at the same time.

ROLLER COASTER highlights Hay’s writing just as much as his unique guitar and vocal approach which stayed in the top 10 Australian AMRAP charts for 4 weeks at the time of release. From the the gutter funk-slide blues of Forget About Me and Bowie meets-chain- gang eclecticism of a tune like Hold You Up to dub-meets-roots of Love No More – the Roller Coaster album is a tour-de-force from an artist at the peak of his craft and one who’s not afraid to let his inner Hillbilly shine such as in 241 and Winner.

ROLLER COASTER is available now in all good stores and regular online channels.
